Honey mask for face and hands
Composition (in case you want to make the mask yourself at home):
Organic blossom honey
10% medicinal honey (manuka honey)
3% vitamin E - oil
Caffeine (3% organic coffee extract)
Application
To avoid sticky hands, start by applying the honey to the face. Then rinse your hands and then apply the honey to the back of your hand and rub it into your fingertips by rubbing back of hand against back of hand. The palms themselves do not become sticky in this way and you are therefore not too limited in your ability to act. Leave the honey on for 20 to 30 minutes and then rinse off with water (ideally apply the honey mask before you intend to take a shower anyway). - As a precaution, have paper towels ready in case you need to touch anything. - This product is not for people who prefer simple solutions and who need everything to happen quickly. Take a little time, put your smartphone on silent and meditate a little.
Why these ingredients?
(Medicinal) Manuka Honey
In addition to essential oils, the nectar of the Manuka plant contains a special carbohydrate called dihydroxyacetone. This is a precursor of methyglyoxal, which is converted into MGO by the bees in the hive.
The antibacterial properties, which have already been proven in studies, are particularly important for MGO. The effect on bacteria on the skin, mucous membranes and wounds was tested. It is believed that the active ingredient can destroy the cell walls of the bacteria and paralyze their energy metabolism. How exactly the process works, however, is unclear.
Due to its antibacterial effects, Manuka honey is used to support the treatment of inflammatory skin diseases, bacterial infections in the gastrointestinal tract or to disinfect wounds in the case of small superficial injuries and cuts.
